Our Program

The Bay Centre for Birth Control

The Bay Centre for Birth Control offers a range of sexual and reproductive health services for women. It is located at 790 Bay Street, Toronto. All services are confidential and include counselling and referral services as well as physical exams and care.

You don't need a doctor's referral to visit the Bay Centre, but it is wise to make an appointment using the phone number below. Drop-ins will only be seen if time permits. The Bay Centre is wheelchair accessible.

Contraceptive Health Care

Bay Centre staff will do a reproductive health assessment and help you decide what are the best contraceptive choices for you. They will also be happy to answer any of your questions.

Birth control pills and other methods, including the birth control patch, Nuvaring, emergency contraception, cervical barriers, sponges and spermicides are available for sale at reduced costs. The Centre also provides Depo-Provera injections and will insert IUDs. They would also be happy to refer you for fertility awareness counselling. Condoms are distributed free. Emergency contraception is also available from the Centre including pills or a post-coital IUD.

Reproductive Health Care

The Bay Centre provides pregnancy testing as well as counselling and referrals for obstetrical care.

Abortion Care

The Bay Centre provides counselling for women with unwanted pregnancies and information about different abortion options. The Centre also provides full medical care for women who choose to have an abortion, including pre- and post-abortion followup and counselling. Bay Centre staff can refer you to private gynecologists or free standing abortion clinics.

Sexual Health Care

The Bay Centre also offers a host of other sexual health services including:

  • Pap tests
  • testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections
  • safer sex counselling and information
  • Hepatitis B vaccination
  • counselling and referral on other sexual health issues
  • anonymous HIV antibody tests including pre- and post-test counselling
  • HIV information and treatment referrals

Colposcopy Services

The Bay Centre also offers a diagnostic colposcopy service for women who have been referred by their doctor. If you have been referred for a colposcopy appointment with us, click here for more information.

The clinic is open:
Monday & Friday
9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
9:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Saturday
9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
